Mr. Ma Kangwei founded KANGWEI DESIGN INC. (KDI New York Kangwei Design Studio) in both New York and Shenzhen, adopting the design philosophy of "Tracing the origin, looking to the future." He is dedicated to exploring Chinese culture, focusing on human-centered design, and applying different thinking logic and perspectives to challenge conventions and foster innovation. With its cross-cultural vision and global design expertise, KDI offers competitive and differentiated design solutions to clients, gaining recognition and acclaim on the international stage.

The founder of KDI New York Kangwei Design Studio, Ma Kangwei, has over a decade of experience living and working in New York. He holds certifications as a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) and a Nationally Certified Interior Designer (NCIDQ). During this time, he worked with world-renowned design firms and masters, including Tony Chi (Chi Yu-Tang), who developed the ultra-luxurious Rosewood Hotels brand and set the highest brand standards for Hyatt's Park Hyatt Hotels; Adam Tihany, the master designer behind Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons Hotels; and David Rockwell, who designed the first W Hotels, Edition Hotels, and MGM CityCenter in Las Vegas.
